What a lovely Pub, who came up with this lovely concept, how did it all start?
We’ve had the venue for 5 years now, and it was previously known as The Eagle Tavern. The idea was to change it into unique and welcoming space with a festival atmosphere.
Tell us about the premises?
The venue has won numerous awards, such as ‘Best Outdoor Space’ 2015 from Design My Night and Esquire UK also rated us as having one of the ‘Top Ten Sunday Roasts In London’. We also have an outdoor café and bar, a VIP taxi complete with photo booth and a few other hidden treats out in the garden.
Who designed it?
Our management team. They have a lot of history working in the festival industry
What’s your unique selling point?
It’s hard to name just one. We’re obviously known for our garden, but our other big selling points are the live music and our enticing food menu.
What food do you serve, tell us about the menu?
We serve everything from skinny fries to Sunday roasts to pan-fried lemon sole to gourmet crumpets.
Tell us what drinks you serve tell us about the drinks menu?
Our biggest sellers are Guinness and Prosecco. We’re also known for making a mean Bloody Mary!
Do you welcome families?
We’re not known for being a family pub, but that isn’t to say that children are not welcome. However we are an over 21’s only venue from 7.00pm
Do you welcome pets?
We are a dog friendly pub. We even have our pet cat Whiskey who you will see either strolling round the pub or lying in the sun.
Do you cater for Vegans and Vegetarians?
There are a number of items on our menus that cater for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free. You are more than welcome to ask about alterations to the menu to suit your dietary needs.
Tell us about your friendly staff?
We tend to have a nice mixed bag of friendly staff who are welcoming and easy to talk to.
Do you ever play live music, if so – what days?
We pride ourselves on our live music here and have a lot of well-known acts from the alternative festival scene. The styles we are passionate about range from folk to ska to gypsy to dub and everything in between. On Fridays and Saturdays we also have a DJ on after the bands have finished.
Where do you rate yourselves on price range?
So that we can offer a fair price on what we do for our customers, we have a selection of offers available. These include 2 lunch courses for £13.50 and 3 for £16.00 and a happy hour on all cocktails where they are 2 for 1 between 5.00pm and 7.00pm every weekday
Do you cater for large groups, parties and events?
We love to take in large bookings for parties in the pub and in our garden.
What keeps customers coming back?
The people, the place and the atmosphere
What are your busiest days?
We tend to find that we’re busier on Fridays and Saturdays.
